Message from the President
Welcome to Late Bloomers Garden Club’s Website!

We are a diverse group who has a broad range of interests, from photography and horticulture, to floral design and conservation, to civic improvement and scholarships and community grants, to awards and garden history and design.

Jacksonville has many fine garden clubs, but Late Bloomers is the only garden club in Northeast Florida to be a member club of the Garden Club of America.  As such, we have resources available to us from 18,000 members in 200 clubs nationwide, and align ourselves with GCA’s purpose which is to Garden, Create and Advocate.

The GCA conducts annual national conferences for its members in the fields of horticulture, photography, floral design, conservation and the all-important National Affairs and Legislation conference.  During the NAL conference, we hear from experts on the environment, parks, climate change, ocean, rivers and lakes conservation, native plant restoration in public spaces, etc., as well as from elected representatives from the House and Senate.  Then, we are trained to advocate with our own representatives as to GCA’s positions on pending federal legislation and policy.

Being a Late Bloomer is a richly rewarding experience, with the added benefit of making lifelong friends!
